My mother is a pretty good baker and taught me how to read a recipe when I was very young. I have always wondered if the reason she spent all the time teaching me to read a recipe and bake was the she new that in the long run it would save her. Once I knew how to make cookies she never had to do it again! If I asked for cookies she would just tell me to make them myself. As I have grown up I found that I really enjoy baking, mostly because I love sweets. Below are some of the things I have made and actually taken pictures of and if you notice, I am a pretty rotten photographer.

German Black Forest Torte
You might have noticed that I have a thing for German deserts, after living there for a few years I kind of got hooked on them. This cake comes from an older German recipe book that is fantastic.
